Jaden McDaniels had a standout game, scoring 25 points, his best performance in the playoffs, as the Minnesota Timberwolves secured a 105-93 win over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, taking a 2-0 lead in their first-round series.
Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert contributed 18 points each, helping the Timberwolves counter the tough defense on Anthony Edwards by the Suns. Edwards, who scored 33 points in the first game, was limited to just 15 points in this match, shooting 3 for 12 from the field.
Next up, the teams will play Game 3 in Phoenix on Friday night. This marks only the second time in franchise history that the Timberwolves have held a 2-0 series lead, with the first instance occurring against Denver in 2004, leading to a 4–1 series win.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 20 points, followed by Kevin Durant with 18, and Eric Gordon with 15 off the bench.
However, the Suns once again struggled to find their rhythm on offense, with their top trio of Booker, Durant, and Bradley Beal shooting a combined 18 for 45. McDaniels played a significant role in disrupting their offensive flow.
