Tyler Soderstrom hit a homer for the A’s, who lost their sixth consecutive game. Luis Medina, with a record of 0-2, gave up four runs in five innings in his third start of the season for Oakland.

Correa, who had a great game the day before with 5 hits out of 6 at-bats, singled in his first two at-bats in this game. Then, in the seventh inning with Lewis on base and two outs, he hit a home run.

Correa celebrated by wearing a purple vest and holding an inflatable purple guitar in tribute to Minneapolis music legend Prince, as it was Prince Day at the ballpark.

Correa’s recent performance has been impressive, with 14 hits in his last five games, increasing his batting average from .255 to .299.
