Star Australian batsman Steve Smith took to his official Instagram handle to reminisce about his remarkable catch at slip during Day 3 of the opening Test against New Zealand in Wellington.

The 34-year-old shared a comparison to a scene from the American film “Mighty Ducks 2.” Smith initially posted a video from the movie featuring Julie ‘The Cat’ Gaffney, played by Colombe Jacobsen-Derstine, showcasing her reflexes to block a ball from entering the goal.

In a tongue-in-cheek manner, Smith attempted to replicate that scene by executing a reflex catch at the Basin Reserve, resulting in dismissing Will Young and giving Travis Head a wicket.

The catch marked Smith’s 182nd in Test cricket, surpassing Mark Waugh for the most catches for the Australian national team. With this achievement, the 34-year-old now stands second on the list, trailing behind Ricky Ponting, who leads with 196 catches.
