Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie was put on a back board and taken off the field on a cart before the second quarter started against the New York Jets on Sunday.
The Broncos said Badie has a back injury and it’s uncertain if he will return.
Badie caught a pass from Bo Nix on a third down play just before the first quarter ended. He was immediately tackled by Quincy Williams, resulting in a 4-yard loss and a fumble.
Michael Carter II picked up the ball for the Jets.
Badie left the field but was later seen lying on his back as trainers examined him on the sideline. He was then secured on a board and lifted onto a cart before being taken away.
Badie had been signed to the Broncos’ active roster from the practice squad earlier that week. This is his third season with Denver, after being signed from Baltimore’s practice squad in 2022.
