This was really worth watching the match as both the teams played really well, but somehow CSK lost the match. After winning this match, KKR moved upward in the points table and grabbed the third position while CSK remained in the fifth position. So this match stated with KKR winning the toss and opting to bat first.
The KKR captain’s decision proved really fruitful for the team as the team won the match and improved their position. From the KKR side, Shubhman Gill and Rahul Tripathi came to bat. This was a change done in the team as Tripathi was promoted to open the game, and Deepak Chahar did bowling as always.
Except for Tripathi, no other KKR batsman proved to be really successful in playing a brilliant inning, and everyone starting getting out one by one. It was only Tripathi who was standing on the ground from the start to the end of the inning and played a brilliant game and scored 81 runs in 51 balls.
Within the powerplay, Shubhman Gill got out after scoring 11 runs in 12 balls. After that, everyone started getting out one-by-one. Nitish Rana got out at 9 in 10 balls, then Narine got out in 17 runs in 9 balls, then Morgan got out on 7 in 10 balls, and then Russell got out at 2 in 4 runs.
Rahul Tripathi played really well and helped KKR make a big score against CSK otherwise;, they may have got out in less than 100. After then, KKR captain, Dinesh Karthik got out on 12 runs in 11 balls, then Cummins got out on 17 in 9 balls, then Nagarkoti got out on 0 runs in 2 balls, Shivam Mavi got out on duck, and then Chakravarthy got run out at 1 run.
With this, all the wickets of KKR got down in 20 overs, and they scored 167 runs in total, and now it was CSK’s turn to chase 167 to win the match. As usual, from the CSK side, Watson and Du Plessis came to open, and Pat Cummins bowled the first over.
In powerplay only, Du Plessis got out at 17 runs in 10 balls, and then Rayudu came to bat. HE scored 30 runs in 27 balls and then got out. In the very next over, Watson got out after scoring a wonderful half-century in 40 balls, and it was really a big shock for CSK fans when Watson got out.
After that, Dhoni came to bat and got out on 11 runs in 12 balls. Sam Curran got out on 17 in balls. CSK tried their best, but because of the slow run rate, they lost the match. At the end of the inning, Kedhar Jadhav remained not out on 7 in 12 balls, and Jadea remained not out on 21 in 8 balls.
CSK lost the match by just 10 runs, and it was really disappointing to see CSK lost the match by just 10 runs. It was the fourth loss for CSK, CSK has lost 4 matches out of the 6 players, and their points were 4 only. Rahul Tripathi was given the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance against CSK.
