It is for the very first time in Jamie Vardy’s career, that he has won the Golden Boot in Premier League this Sunday. Although his team Leicester City has not made till semi-finals of the Champions League.
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is 33-year-old and is the oldest player to win this award and the first from his club. He has finished the season as a top scorer with 23 superb goals, leaving behind Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Southhampton’s Danny Ings who could only score one less goal less than him.
Jamie Vardy is also the 9th English player to win the Golden Boot Award.
Despite tuning 33, Jamie Vardy still has some fire left in his belly which makes him what he is and he wants to be best. From his past, where he used to make £30-per-week and was a part-time footballer, he climbed up to the Premier League winner in just 5 years, it shows his extreme drive and grit to play at the highest level while making up the lost time playing in the lower leagues.
Earlier this month, he has already achieved his 100th goal of the Premier League against Crystal Palace, and he does not seem to be ready to hand his boots before making it 200.
Having said that, Jamie as the winner of Golder Boot, could not do much harm to Manchester United on Sunday, and Leicester city has lost the game by 0-2, finishing the Champions league at 5th place.
In the season of 2015-16, Jamie Vardy has scored 24 goals but nearly missed out the Golden Boot award to Harry Kane’s 25 goals record, while it was the title-winning season for Leicester City.
Leicester City’s manager Brendan Rodgers praised Jamie Vardy and said that they couldn’t have achieved success in the Premier leagues without his quality of play and his amazing goal score in the season.
Brendan was happy while sharing that its a wonderful individual achievement for any player in the club and Jamie is a pure joy to work with and he poses great mentality. The whole team and the club are very happy and delighted to be a part of his achievements.
At the award ceremony for Premier League, Man City’s Brazilian keeper Ederson has received the Golder Glove award with 16 clean sheets of the season, leaving behind Burnley’s Nick Pope with 15 clean shut outs.
It’s quite amazing to witness such amazing superhumans who were nothing a few years back but because of there constant push to become the best of themselves, they were able to change the history in their favor.
