Byrin Buxton celebrates his home run

Byron Buxton smashed two home runs and brought in three runs, while Joe Ryan pitched seven innings without letting the Nationals score a run. This led the Minnesota Twins to break their seven-game losing streak with a convincing 10-0 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night.

Jose Miranda also contributed with a two-run homer, part of the Twins’ eight-run barrage against Nationals pitcher Patrick Corbin. Willi Castro later added a two-run shot against reliever Jacob Barnes. This strong offensive display came after a team meeting following their hefty loss in the previous game.

The Twins managed to score more runs in this game than they did in their entire losing streak combined, providing relief to manager Rocco Baldelli, who celebrated his 400th career win.

Corbin, on the other hand, had a rough outing, giving up nine hits and three walks, resulting in his season-worst performance.

Jacob Young was one of the few bright spots for the Nationals, contributing two hits, but, they struggled offensively, getting shut out for the third time in seven games.

Buxton, in his third game back after recovering from a knee injury, made a significant impact with his bat. He hit a solo homer in the second inning and followed it up with a two-run blast in the fifth, helping the Twins secure their much-needed victory.

Reflecting on his performance, Buxton admitted to simplifying his approach at the plate, which proved successful in this game.
