Dave Roberts mentions that Shohei Ohtani has been affected by a bruised hamstring, causing a slowdown

Shohei Ohtani talks to the officials

The manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Dave Roberts, mentioned on Saturday that Shohei Ohtani, a star player, has a bruised hamstring and has been advised to take it easy on it.

According to Roberts, Ohtani got injured when he was hit by a throw while trying to pick off a runner during the Dodgers’ recent homestand.

This was brought up after Ohtani seemed to not run at full speed while hitting a triple in the sixth inning.

Roberts stated, “Our advice to him is just be smart with it. I think he was just going to leg out a double and the ball just didn’t get in (to the infield), so he kept running. It is him just managing the hamstring.”

He added, “Today, it was better than yesterday. We need him in there. We just didn’t want to push it.”

In Saturday night’s game against the Reds, Ohtani went 1 for 4 with three strikeouts. He didn’t perform well in the series opener on Friday night either, going 0 for 5.
