New York Mets vs San Francisco Giants

Francisco Lindor smashed two two-run home runs, helping the New York Mets secure an 8-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants and avoid a three-game series sweep.

Lindor had an impressive performance, going 4 for 5 with four RBIs, marking the 16th time in his career he’s hit multiple home runs in a game.

Reflecting on his performance, Lindor said, “Yesterday it seemed like I wasn’t on any pitch. Today it seemed like I was on most of the pitches. It feels really good, especially when you win.”

Tyrone Taylor contributed with a home run and a two-run double, while Jeff McNeil added an RBI single, helping the Mets break their three-game losing streak.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza praised Taylor’s performance, stating, “(Taylor) is going to be a huge part of this team moving forward.

I’m just happy that he’s having great results because he’s such a great guy, but he’s also a really good player.”

San Francisco’s Tyler Fitzgerald also homered, as the Giants aimed for their first three-game winning streak of the season.

Mets starter Sean Manaea faced challenges with his command but managed to pitch 4 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out six and walking four. Despite his struggles, Manaea showed resilience, allowing only four singles.

Reflecting on his performance, Manaea humorously remarked, “It might’ve been one of the best, worst games I’ve ever had in my life. From a pure pitching standpoint, I’m just falling behind guys, walking guys, but also getting outs when I needed to.”

Reliever Reed Garrett took over for Manaea, pitching two innings and allowing his first earned run of the season on Fitzgerald’s homer in the seventh. Garrett, with four wins, is now tied for the most wins in the majors.
