Patrick Bailey smashed a walk-off three-run home run, while Kyle Harrison delivered six shutout innings as the San Francisco Giants clinched a 3-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday.

The game remained scoreless until the ninth inning when Michael Conforto drew a walk and Matt Chapman singled against reliever David Bednar (1-2). Bailey then connected with a homer to right field, marking his second walk-off home run in his career.

Bailey, who has been performing well this season, mentioned that he anticipated a fastball on the pitch and feels more confident in his swing compared to last year.

“This year, I focused on building my confidence at the plate,” Bailey said. “I proved to myself last year that I could perform at this level, despite some struggles towards the end. So, my main goal this year was to approach each at-bat with confidence.”

When asked how he maintains his confidence, Bailey simply replied, “Keep hitting.” Both starting pitchers, Harrison and Pittsburgh’s Quinn Priester, pitched six solid innings.

Harrison recorded seven strikeouts and allowed five hits. Despite encountering some challenging situations, Harrison expressed his satisfaction in escaping potential run-scoring opportunities, which adds to his confidence.
