Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched well, allowing only one run over six innings. Jason Heyward and Will Smith hit doubles that brought in runs, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers win 4-1 against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.

Kiké Hernández also contributed with an RBI for the Dodgers. This win came after the Rockies’ victory on Friday, their first win at Dodger Stadium since 2022.

Shohei Ohtani stole his 100th base in the majors, making him the fourth Japanese-born player to reach this milestone.

Ezequiel Tovar had three hits for the Rockies, who lost for only the second time in six games.

Yamamoto bounced back from his first loss in 10 starts since his major league debut. He limited the Rockies to seven hits and a walk, striking out seven.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Yamamoto’s performance, especially his fastball control and pitch selection.

The Dodgers’ bullpen, with three relievers each pitching one scoreless inning, secured the win. Evan Phillips earned his ninth save in his first appearance since returning from a hamstring injury.

Rockies pitcher Cal Quantrill struggled, giving up four runs on nine hits and two walks. This was his first loss since April.

Colorado took an early lead in the second inning, but the Dodgers quickly responded, capitalizing on defensive errors to score a run.
