It just seems like yesterday when we talk about the NBA. It doesn’t even feel like it has been a month already since the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA title. The Western Conference champions defeated Miami Heat, the Eastern Conference winners. It was a 7-game playoffs and the Lakers won 4 games out of the first 6 to seal their victory over the Heat. LeBron James emerged as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) as he got 179 points from the finals playoffs. Anyhow, now that the 2019-20 season is over and soon the new season is going to start, let us talk about the NBA Draft 2020.

How is the draft going to be different this year?

The NBA Draft is the most important part of the tournament as it helps teams to improve their quality by signing young and talented stars. However, this year, it won’t be the same as it is being held online. You won’t be able to see the players, media, and fans at the Barclays Center (Brooklyn) this year for the draft. In fact, you will also miss out on Adam Silver shaking hands with the draftees as they walk up on the stage. NBA has decided to conduct the Draft virtually from ESPN’s campus in Connecticut. They haven’t released all the details as of now but it will be following a similar format as the 2020 Draft Lottery 2020 WNBA Draft.

Minnesota Timberwolves have got the first pick in this draft. They’ll definitely be eyeing the young talents so that they can make some quality signing. After them are Golden State Warriors and Charlotte Hornets who are also getting a chance in the Top 3 picks. These teams were the ones with the worst record in the previous season. As a result, they will be getting the Top 3 picks to bolster their roster. However, all of them have different requirements based on the players’ talent and their positions.
