Will Grier

The Eagles are bringing in another quarterback. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Philadelphia is set to sign Will Grier to a one-year contract.

Grier, aged 28, spent time with multiple teams last year, including the Cowboys, Bengals, Patriots, and Chargers, but he didn’t play in any games. The Cowboys released him after acquiring quarterback Trey Lance to keep him as their third quarterback. He had been with the Cowboys since 2021.

Grier was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2019 draft. He started two games as a rookie for Carolina, completing 28-of-52 passes for 228 yards without any touchdowns and with four interceptions. He hasn’t played in a regular-season game since then.

With Grier joining the team, the Eagles now have Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee on their roster as backup quarterbacks behind starter Jalen Hurts.
