Cal Clutterbuck got two goals, while Mathew Barzal and Hudson Fasching each had a goal and two assists as the New York Islanders ended their six-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory against Winnipeg on Saturday.

Kyle Palmieri and Anders Lee also scored, and Semyon Varlamov stopped 33 shots for the Islanders. They are currently not in a wild-card playoff position in the Eastern Conference, with 12 games remaining in the regular season.

Vladislav Namestnikov, Mason Appleton, and Cole Perfetti scored for Winnipeg, who lost their second consecutive game after defeating the Rangers on Tuesday.

Connor Hellebuyck allowed five goals on 26 shots before being replaced by Laurent Brossoit halfway through the second period.

Clutterbuck’s two goals in the first period gave New York a 2-0 lead early on.

Namestnikov narrowed the gap for the Jets, slipping behind the Islanders defense and maneuvering past Varlamov at 11:20 of the first period.

However, the Islanders then scored four consecutive goals to take control of the game.
