Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott celebrated the birth of his baby daughter last week, and he’s optimistic about another development: a new contract from the Cowboys.

At a charity event on Monday, Prescott shared the news of his daughter’s arrival and also addressed his contract situation. With the final year of his current deal approaching and a hefty cap number of $59.4 million for the 2024 season, speculation about a contract extension has been rife.

While Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently suggested that an extension isn’t imperative, Prescott expressed confidence that a deal will be reached.

“I’m confident,” Prescott remarked, emphasizing the benefits for the team and the financial aspects. “Everything is great. It’ll happen,” he added, as reported by Nick Harris of the team’s website.

In addition to Prescott’s negotiations, the Cowboys are expected to engage in talks for contract extensions with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and linebacker Micah Parsons in the coming weeks. With multiple discussions on the horizon, Jones and his team will have their hands full this off-season.
