Following the Steelers’ 27–22 win over the Baltimore Ravens, wide receiver DK Metcalf experienced stomach pains prior to the team’s return flight. As a result, he was removed from the travel plans and taken to a local hospital in Baltimore as a precaution, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

The Steelers’ medical staff made the decision “out of an abundance of caution,” a team spokesperson confirmed. Metcalf was evaluated at the hospital, discharged later that night, and remained in Baltimore overnight. He is expected to return to Pittsburgh on Monday, Dec. 8.

Uncertain Week 15 Status Following Health Scare After Metcalf’s Best Steelers Performance

At this time, it is uncertain whether Metcalf’s brief hospital stay will impact his status for the Steelers’ Week 15 “Monday Night Football” game against the Miami Dolphins. The team has not provided further details regarding the severity of the issue.

The medical scare came after Metcalf’s most productive outing as a Steeler. The former Seahawk recorded season highs with 12 targets, seven receptions, and 148 receiving yards while building chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Through his first season in Pittsburgh, Metcalf leads the team with 52 catches for 753 yards and five touchdowns.
