The Cincinnati Bengals had some intense moments as they aimed for their first-ever win on the road against the New York Giants.
One key moment was when quarterback Joe Burrow went into the medical tent to be checked for a concussion after taking a hard hit on a third-down pass that didn’t connect.
Another crucial moment came with 3:05 left in the game. The Giants were behind 10-7 and decided to go for it on fourth-and-2 from the Bengals’ 36-yard line.
Both situations turned out well for Cincinnati. Burrow was okay and returned to the game. On the fourth-down play, Bengals cornerback DJ Turner knocked away a pass from Daniel Jones that was meant for Darius Slayton.
This allowed the Bengals to take over the ball, and on the first play after the two-minute warning, Chase Brown sprinted for a 30-yard touchdown run. This pretty much secured the unusual 17-7 victory, which the Bengals (2-4) really needed.
Burrow described the game as ugly, and there were definitely rough moments. However, after losing to Baltimore in overtime last week, the Bengals were happy to get this win.
“We’re 2-4, so we’re trying to find ourselves,” Burrow said, referring to his career-long 47-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. “We’re trying to find wins. We found one today.”
