Rayshawn Jenkins

The Jaguars are initiating moves to free up cap space, beginning with cornerback Darious Williams. This trend may continue with offensive lineman Brandon Scherff and safety Rayshawn Jenkins, both of whom are entering the final year of their contracts.

Jenkins is slated to earn a non-guaranteed salary of $8.28 million in 2024, carrying a cap number of $12.564 million. If released, he would leave behind $7.136 million in dead money.

As for Scherff, he holds a base salary of $15 million, with a cap number of $23.967 million. Releasing him would incur a dead-money charge of $14.868 million.

Furthermore, the Jaguars are anticipated to utilize the franchise tag on defensive end Josh Allen before today’s deadline.
