Cornerback Xavien Howard, who was let go by the Dolphins in March, has been without a team since then. Now, he’s taken a step forward in his quest to join a new team.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Howard’s doctor has sent a letter to NFL teams stating that he’s cleared to participate in all football activities.

Howard had been dealing with a foot injury towards the end of the 2023 season, causing him to miss the last two games for the Dolphins.

The Dolphins released him with a post-June 1 designation to save money under the salary cap. While Howard mentioned the possibility of playing for the Texans in March, there is no indication that they’re interested. With the draft approaching, a team needing cornerback help might consider Howard after missing out on other options during the draft.
