Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy will not be charged following his arrest on Friday night in Williamson County, Texas. The district attorney informed the Austin American-Statesman that after reviewing the case, no charges would be pursued.

Shawn Dick Confirms Xavier Worthy Cooperating as Investigation into Incident Continues
Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick stated that after discussions with multiple witnesses, the decision was made to decline charges. However, the case remains under evaluation as the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation. Dick emphasized that Worthy and his legal team have been fully cooperative throughout the process.

According to Worthy’s attorneys, the dispute began when he asked a woman, the complainant, to leave his residence. They allege that the woman responded by causing property damage and scratching Worthy’s face.
Despite this, Worthy reportedly told law enforcement that he did not wish to press charges against her. In Texas, the charge he was initially arrested for is classified as a third-degree felony, carrying a potential sentence of two to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
