With the existing contract is coming to an end in 2023, reports are that the Midfielder James Maddison has already been offered a new contract for 4 more years. James has reportedly agreed to accept the offer.
Although an official contract hasn’t been signed as yet but when it is signed it is believed to have a considerable pay rise most likely around £110,000 a week. The contract will tie the 23 year old player until 2024 with Leicester.
Considering that he still has three more seasons before his existing contract ends and he has already been offered a renewal of 4 years with a pay rise proves how he is on a path of incredible growth and success.
Due to the hip injury incurred in his England debut against Montenegro in November, he had to miss the final games of the Season.
During this Team Leicester missed out against Manchester and Chelsea on the final day of campaign and they haven’t been able to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.
The now attacking midfielder was born and raised in Gwanda, Zimbawe and had started his career with Coventry City’s youth team.
Although he was included in the first team squad in the 2013 – 14 season, he could not make an appearance. His debut was in 2014 for 2-1 league cup as a substitute. His first ever contract was signed in November 2014 that lasted for three and a half year.
During the three-year contract he missed most of the 2014-15 season as he picked up a back injury.
With his first league goal been made with a free kick Maddison has undoubtedly a come a long way to signing a deal worth around £110,000 a week.
