Michael Conforto and Brett Wisely each hit three-run home runs during a six-run third inning, leading the San Francisco Giants to an 11-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.

The Giants have been strong spoilers lately, winning 7 out of 8 games against teams like Baltimore, Kansas City, and Arizona. They increased their winning streak to five games by hitting five home runs against the Diamondbacks, including three against pitcher Brandon Pfaadt in the first three innings.

“Things happen like this and it gets contagious,” said Giants manager Bob Melvin. “You start playing well and you just feel like you’ve got a chance to win.”

Patrick Bailey hit a solo homer in the second inning, followed by Conforto’s 20th home run in the third. Wisely then hit his three-run homer, putting the Giants ahead 7-0.

Tyler Fitzgerald contributed a two-run homer, and Heliot Ramos added a solo shot among his four hits. Logan Webb pitched six scoreless innings, giving up four hits.

“We’re having fun and that’s a good thing to watch from the dugout,” said Webb, the first Giants pitcher to have consecutive 200-inning seasons since Jeff Samardzija in 2016-17. “We’re making plays, we’re pitching well and that’s building chemistry.”

The Diamondbacks are struggling at a crucial time. They recently blew an 8-0 lead against Milwaukee, lost 6-3 in the series opener, and only managed six hits on Tuesday.

Their lead over Atlanta, which won 5-1 against the New York Mets, shrank to half a game for the final NL playoff spot with four games left.

“Usually I try to filter things and come up with something that’s positive, but I don’t think there was much positive that came from this game today,” said Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo. “We’ve got to play better baseball.”

Pfaadt had a rough start previously, allowing eight runs in just 1 2/3 innings, but he struck out 12 in his last game against Milwaukee.
