F1 racing has become a global phenomenon. Millions of fans watch the action live or on TV every year. The sport is also very lucrative. In 2017 alone, the top teams earned over $2.5 billion. F1 cars are some of the fastest vehicles ever built. They race at speeds of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) around tracks that cover almost 2 miles. There are 10 races that stand out from the rest. These include Monaco Grand Prix, Singapore Grand Prix, Australian Grand Prix, Spanish Grand Prix, Hungarian Grand Prix, Belgian Grand Prix, German Grand Prix, Italian Grand Prix, French Grand Prix, and British Grand Prix.

2012 Brazilian Grand Prix

2012 was Brazil’s turn at hosting Formula One racing. The country had never previously hosted F1, having instead been the inaugural host of the event back in 1950. This time around, Brazilians enjoyed the spectacle from their living rooms and even watched live on TV.

In August 2011, the FIA finally announced that it would return to South America after a 30 year absence. The race took place over 11 days, from March 9th to 21st, 2012. It consisted of three practice sessions, two qualifying sessions, and then the main race itself.

Brazil is a vast country, which means the distances were great between some tracks, the biggest being Interlagos, where the circuit itself measures 7.4km (4.6 miles). However, despite the lack of centralization, the event was well organized, and the drivers managed to perform brilliantly throughout the entire weekend.

2014 Hungarian Grand Prix

Hungary has always had a reputation for producing some of the fastest drivers in Formula One racing. This year, Hungary was also home to the 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix, held at the Hungaroring circuit near Budapest. The race was won by Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel, who took his third win of the season.

Although Ecclestone retired in 2008, his legacy still lives on.
