Arsenal may not be ready to face Everton at the Goodison Park

The Premier League is back with a boom as Arsenal takes on Everton at Goodison Park on 17 September 2023. The Toffees are known for showing no mercy on this fixture in their last five outings.

Mikel Arteta, despite being in the limelight, has not won since 2017 in the blue half of Merseyside. He is expected to be looking for a perfect way to overcome his Sean Dyche problem. 

This fixture can be taken as a challenge by the team as they have oddly lost on this field to Everton with a 1-0 but managed to win a 4-0 at the Emirates. Further proving how much value this match could hold for the players. Arteta’s team is getting ready for the match with its most dependable players.

Is the team ready with its line-up? 

Currently, Kai Havertz is suffering badly with a run of poor form and a lack of confidence. This could be a hard match for the team. The team is believed to go with Jorginho. 

The Italian player has been working closely with Mikel Arteta at London Colney for the last few weeks. Martin Odegaard is set in his position, but the team still faces challenges as the spectators question the contributors of each player in the fixture.

The team also faces another big decision. Gabriel Jesus had shown composure and great finishing by ending the game against Manchester United. However, the player is still in need of reviving his knee injury from last season.

Another player, Eddie Nketiah, is reported to have been good and is set to make a comeback on 21st September 2023 for the Champions League group stage match with PSV. In the team’s Everton game last season, Jesus was unavailable, giving light to the Brazilian. 

Bukayo Saka and Gabrield Martinelli are to continue. The team does not have many options in terms of players for the premier league games. Leandro Trossard scored a spectacular goal against Belgium, and he will be useful off the bench with Fabio Vieira.

The team’s defense remains the same from their win over Manchester United. Aaron Ramsdale is placed ahead of David Raya’s unavoidable Champions League debut. 

Ben White, William Saliba, and Oleksandr Zinchenko are once again united with Gabriel Magalhaes. Magalhaes has spent an amazing break showing his talent with the Brazilian national side, leaving all spectators amazed. His great physical strength and composure could possibly make the game.

Arsenal is in need of calm energy and great composure throughout the game. This lineup is expected to bring it all together and impress the audience with great gameplay.

Vinai Venkatesham on Leaving Arsenal After Working Together for 15 Years

Vinai Venkatesham is set to step down from the position of Arsenal’s chief executive. In a report through the club’s official website, Venkatesham is leaving the Emirates stadium after 14 years the coming summer.

The chief was appreciated and thanked by the Co-chair, Josh Kroenke, for his service to the club. Josh declared that the Board is fully supportive of Vinai’s desire to pursue his next challenge.

Josh further continued to call it business as usual, with everyone focused on the season ahead. They would like to take this moment to thank Venkatesham for his contribution and long service. He assures that Vinai will always be part of the Arsenal family and always be welcome back at Emirates Stadium.

Change and succession are something the club is well prepared for. The Board remains committed to its strategy and will address leadership change as it continues to drive the club forward.

Venkatesham has proudly stated that now is not the time for goodbyes, as his last day still exceeds several months.

But the current time suits best to look back on the progress that Arsenal has made since he took over the position of the chief executive back in 2020. Venkatesham has spent ten years at the club, playing roles and helping the club grow.

Vinai Venkatesham’s contribution as the CEO of Arsenal

When the departure of the head of football Raul Sanllehi was announced by the North London outfit- widely appreciated for breaking the club’s transfer record and signing Nicolas Pepe for £72million the previous summer, it was later revealed that Venkatesham would be playing the Spaniard’s role.

At the time, Arsenal had come off an FA Cup trophy win, which had qualified them for the following season’s Europa League after finishing eighth in the Premier League table, which happened to be their lowest finish since the year 1995. To get the club to become challenging again, there was a lot of work to be put in.

This challenge was taken heads up by Venkatesham. He missed working closely with his colleague and friend Raul but continued to look forward to the new challenge. Venkatesham believed that There was much work to be done to return Arsenal to the top of the game where they belong, as the fans were rightly demanding. 

Venkatesham realized that the change would not happen overnight, but he continued to believe in the potential of the club. There were many positives to build on across the club. While football faced uncertainties ahead as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Venkatesham remained confident that Arsenal would emerge strongly and look forward with confidence.

Venkatesham was right to point out that things would need some time to get back on track. Arsenal had its own fair share of downfalls as they went on to finish eighth in the 2020/21 season, failing the European qualification for the first time in over two decades. But he still held a strong belief that the Gunners would come back strong, and the idea was proven right.

Venkatesham performed his duties as the chief of the club with utmost compassion. After living several historical days with Arsenal, Venkatesham is on course to leave Arsenal with a million memories to reminisce on and several moments to be proud of.

Thomas Partey, a standout for Arsenal, may miss up to six weeks due to a groin injury. The Gunners stated Partey sustained a groin injury earlier in the week; thus, he was not included in the matchday squad that defeated Manchester United on Sunday.

According to the most recent sources, the 30-year-old might play again following the international break in October.

Nicolas Pepe, who plays for Arsenal, might go to a team called Besiktas in Turkey this week. He did not want to join them earlier this summer, but now it looks like Arsenal might sell him to them for a fair amount.

Before moving to Besiktas, Pepe will have a medical exam. Jorginho’s agent also stated that the 31-year-old is just concerned about Arsenal and has never considered leaving the team.

Fenerbahce was rumored to be interested in signing Jorginho. Still, with Partey’s recent setback with an injury, Mikel Arteta will likely look to the Italian midfielder and Declan Rice to serve as the Gunners’ midfield’s rock.

In a very interesting match where Arsenal came from behind to beat Manchester United 3-1 on Sunday, September 3, Jorginho only got to play for one minute. But he was very happy about the win! Arsenal scored two late goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus to secure the victory and get complete three points.

The unexpected victory for Arsenal over Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils prompted the Italian midfielder to post on Instagram in response:

United took the lead in the 27th minute on a powerful shot from Marcus Rashford. 35 seconds later, Martin Odegaard swiftly brought the home team at the Emirates back into the game.

Jesus then came off the bench to seal the victory five minutes after Rice scored his first goal for the team in the 90+6th minute. The North Londoners are now in sixth place in the league going into the break.

Arsenal Should Not Sell Jorginho

The Gunners should stick onto Jorginho at least until January, even if a big offer for him came through and he wanted to leave.

Partey is not fit to play right now, as we mentioned earlier. However, Jorginho is a player who has a lot of experience, and he can be a good addition to this Arsenal team.

It might be useful before Arsenal’s first Champions League campaign since the 2016–17 campaign, a competition the Italy international has unquestionably won.

Overall, Mikel Arteta could not replace Jorginho now that the transfer window in England has closed because he still has a lot to give.

The Spaniard will likely favor players like Rice and Martin Odegaard in the middle of the field, but Jorginho may still contribute this season, especially with Partey out injured.

Jorginho might not want to go and play in Turkey as it stands. He used to play for Chelsea and even started games for both Arsenal and another team in London last season. This shows that he is still a good player who can play really well.
