De’Von Achane Returns: Miami Dolphins Running Back Activated from Injured Reserve for Clash with Las Vegas Raiders

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has been activated from injured reserve and is set to play this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, marking his return after a four-game absence.

Selected as a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft, Achane showcased an impressive performance in Weeks 3 through 5, accumulating 460 rushing yards and scoring seven touchdowns. His standout display in Week 3, amassing 233 total yards and four touchdowns, earned him the title of AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Following a notable Week 5 performance of 151 rushing yards and a touchdown against the New York Giants, Achane was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Coach McDaniel described the injury as more of a sprain than a tear, stating that while a player could potentially play through such an injury with the aid of a knee brace, the team opted to prioritize caution with their promising rookie.

McDaniel commended Achane for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to the team, qualities expected to bolster the AFC East-leading Dolphins in the latter half of the season. Despite being a rookie, Achane has quickly integrated into the team’s dynamics, earning the respect of the locker room.

In addition to Achane’s return, the Dolphins made a move to strengthen their roster by signing wide receiver Robbie Chosen to the practice squad. Chosen was promptly elevated to the active roster for the upcoming Sunday game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Raheem Mostert from the Dolphins Says He’s the Quickest Player on the ‘fastest Team in the NFL

The Miami Dolphins have a number of fast players this year, like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, and De’Von Achane. They are so quick that people are talking about them a lot, especially after they scored seventy points in a game. That is why people are talking about their speed, even though it is not July anymore!

Mostert made it clear that he was the fastest and could beat Hill and Waddle in a 40-yard race. When he was asked about it again on The Rich Eisen Show, he did not change his mind. He is very sure he can win, and he explains why he thinks so. He is doing fine in the NFL this season, and he has already scored seven touchdowns!

“Oh yeah, I am definitely going to win this race,” Mostert said. “Let me explain, Rich. Tyreek is really fast, and I see no need for argument, but he is like a quick and twitchy sprinter. As for me, I am more of a long-strider.

When I start running, I go very fast, and it is hard for others to catch me. Jaylen Waddle is kind of in the middle between me and Tyreek. We are going to have a fun race, but I think I can win it the most.”

Achane splashed onto the scene Sunday with a blazing 203 rushing yards and four scrimmage TDs. The rookie running back’s ability to go from first to fourth gear is mind-boggling.

“Achane, he is in the mix too. He is more of that off-the-burst quick guy,” Mostert said, still placing emphasis on the fictional race. “It is going to be neck and neck. I will say this: We are definitely the fastest team in the NFL, and if we had a (4×100 race), it did not matter what position each player was in. We’d win for sure.”

We know who would comprise the Dolphins’ 4×100 team. I am curious about who’s running the steeplechase on this Fins Track Club, and why is it not Alec Ingold?

The Dolphins’ speed has been out of this world to start the season. They own the five fastest ball-carrier speeds in 2023, per Next Gen Stats.

De’Von Achane: Week 3, 21.93 mp

Tyreek Hill: Week 1, 21.66

Raheem Mostert: Week 2, 21.62

Tyreek Hill: Week 1, 21.52

De’Von Achane: Week 3, 21.50

The Bills’ coach, Sean McDermott, is getting ready for one of their biggest game against Miami this Sunday. He made a funny comment, saying they should bring in some super-fast people like “having characteristics of Usain Bolts” to practice against so they can be ready for Miami’s speedy players.

Coach Mike McDaniel has a special way of using speed and creativity in his team’s games, and no other team so far has been able to come out good at it. The game on Sunday will be a tough challenge for Miami because they have not faced a team of this caliber this season.
