During the last days of the 2021-22 NHL season, scoring records are falling like dominoes practically every day.

Cale Makar, a defenseman with the Colorado Avalanche, is the latest player to break the team scoring record.

A few weeks ago, he broke Sandish Ozolinsh's single-season team record for defenseman goals.

Makar has now scored for the 24th time, bringing his total to 26.

Makar had an assist in Monday night's loss to the Washington Capitals, giving him 83 points on the season.

That surpassed Steve Duchesne's team record of 82 set in 1992-93.

There are still six games left on the Avs' schedule.

As a result, Makar, 23, will undoubtedly put some distance between himself and Duchesne in the next weeks.
