Israel Adesanya, in a recent segment on his FREESTYLEBENDER YouTube channel, pointed out that Max Holloway holds an advantage over Justin Gaethje due to his superior defensive skills.

Adesanya advised Holloway to implement strong defensive tactics from the outset of the fight, emphasizing head movement and counter-attacks. He believes Holloway can capitalize on Gaethje’s tendencies to swing and extend his attacks, allowing Holloway to counter effectively.

Adesanya predicted Holloway to win by decision at UFC 300, endorsing his fellow City Kickboxing standout’s ability to outmaneuver Gaethje. This sentiment is shared by Alexander Volkanovski, despite having defeated Holloway three times in their UFC careers. Holloway comes into the fight with momentum following victories over Arnold Allen and The Korean Zombie in 2023, while Gaethje claimed the BMF belt by defeating Poirier at UFC 291.

Despite some surprise at Holloway’s return to the lightweight division instead of challenging featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, his performance at UFC 300 could potentially earn him a shot at the featherweight title. Adesanya believes that if Holloway adopts a strategic approach in the Octagon, he could deliver another impressive performance and add another belt to his résumé.
