Loyd scores 30 points once more, guiding the Seattle Storm to a 97-76 victory over the Dallas Wings

Jewell Loyd scored 30 points, hitting 16 of 17 free throws, as the Seattle Storm defeated the Dallas Wings 97-76 on Saturday night.

Seattle held Dallas to under 20 points in each of the last three quarters. This victory marks the Storm’s third consecutive win at the start of their nine-game homestand, setting a new WNBA record.

Jordan Horston contributed 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists for Seattle (12-6). Nneka Ogwumike added 16 points, Ezi Magbegor scored 13, and Skylar Diggins-Smith chipped in 11 points.

Loyd, with her second straight 30-point game, made 6 of 14 shots and also recorded five rebounds and five assists.

Seattle excelled from the free-throw line, making 28 of 30 attempts compared to Dallas’s 6 of 14.

Seattle held a close 28-25 lead after the first quarter and extended it with a 7-1 run to start the second quarter, leading 54-41 at halftime. A dominant 10-0 run at the beginning of the third quarter secured the victory.

Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas (4-14) with 24 points. Teaira McCowan scored 15 points, and Natasha Howard contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Seattle, boasting a 7-1 home record, will face Dallas again on Monday at home.
