PGA TOUR Champions has announced its 2025 schedule, marking the 45th season of the Tour, which will feature 28 events across 20 states and three countries: Morocco, England, and Canada. The 2025 season promises to be exciting, with a total prize pool of over $69 million, the highest in the Tour’s history. The regular season includes 25 events, with a highlight being the debut of the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida. Additionally, the American Family Insurance Championship will introduce a new team format and a new venue, the redesigned TPC Wisconsin.
The season kicks off with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai in Hawaii from January 13-19, marking its 29th consecutive year at this venue. Following that, the Champions Tour returns to Morocco for the Trophy Hassan II at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, held February 3-9. The first stateside event will be the Chubb Classic in Naples, Florida, from February 10-16, followed by the Cologuard Classic in Tucson, Arizona, in March. California then hosts back-to-back tournaments, including the Hoag Classic and the Galleri Classic, both in March.
The Tour’s new James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational will take place March 31-April 6 at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Florida. This unique event combines golf and football, featuring Champions Tour players competing alongside 26 football legends, with Sunday reserved for PGA TOUR Champions players only. After a brief two-week break, the Mitsubishi Electric Classic in Duluth, Georgia, will be followed by the Insperity Invitational in The Woodlands, Texas, with a record $3 million purse.
In 2025, PGA TOUR Champions will feature five major championships. The season kicks off with the Regions Tradition in May at Greystone Golf & Country Club, followed by the Senior PGA Championship at Congressional Country Club. The schedule for major tournaments has shifted, with the Kaulig Companies Championship now taking place in mid-June, before the U.S. Senior Open. The Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex concludes the major season in late July at Sunningdale Golf Club in England.
The regular season continues with events such as the Principal Charity Classic in Iowa, and the American Family Insurance Championship in Wisconsin, where a new team format will be introduced. This event will feature 76 players in 38 teams of two, with unique formats including a scramble and best ball. After the major championships conclude, the PGA TOUR Champions heads to August events like the Boeing Classic in Washington, the Rogers Charity Classic in Calgary, and The Ally Challenge in Michigan.
September brings more excitement with the Stifel Charity Classic in St. Louis, followed by the Sanford International in South Dakota and the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, where juniors will team up with Champions Tour players. The regular season then ends with the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS in Florida and the SAS Championship in North Carolina, both held in October.
The season culminates with the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs, beginning with the Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Richmond, Virginia, followed by the Simmons Bank Championship in Little Rock, Arkansas. The final event, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, will be held on November 16 in Phoenix, Arizona. Since its inception in 2001, the Charles Schwab Cup has been a points-based competition to determine the season’s best player, with several top contenders, including Ernie Els, aiming for the title.
All 2025 events will be nationally televised on the GOLF Channel, and many will also be available to stream on Peacock. Additionally, weekend coverage will be available for major tournaments, such as the Senior PGA Championship and the U.S. Senior Open, on NBC.
