Auburn University is represented by Auburn Tigers football. It officially began competing in intercollegiate football in 1892. They joined the southeastern conference in 1932 as one member of the conference, and they began competing in the West division.
The legacy of the Tigers has continued for so long, and as a legend, they have won 741 of the 1209 games they have played. Auburn has achieved 12 undefeated seasons and has won 16 conference championships along with ten divisional championships.
Over the years, the Tigers have produced three Heisman Trophy winners: quarterback Pat Sullivan, running back Bo Jackson, and quarterback Cam Newton in 1971, 1985, and 2010 respectively. Jordan coached from 1951-1975, led Auburn to its first national championship, and made them win a total of 176 games.
In recent times Robby Ashford, Jackson Barkley, Wilky Denaud, and Joe Frazier have all been instrumental in the enormous success that the Tigers have achieved.
Auburn Tigers’ 2022/23 season
The 2022/23 season for the Auburn Tigers wasn’t an impressive one, and they weren’t at their peak during the season. According to Big game boomer, they were barely in the 50 best athletic programs. Auburn came at position 49. The Tiger was only ahead of Pepperdine and which made Auburn No.11 in SEC (The southeastern conference).
The Tigers started their 2022 season with a comfortable win over GA Southern (41-7) before easing their way past Mercer, Oregon, Tulane, and Kent State (24-10, 27-21,24-6,55-16).
They continued their winning streak till 31st Oct but got it broken from 7 Nov onwards and lost five matches in the streak. The season ended with a loss of 49-27 to Alabama, and with not much luck in winning, they ended up in 11th position in SEC.
