The Battle at Berlin, a prestigious summer race and fan favorite, is set to receive substantial updates as officials reveal a heightened purse of $40,000.

This infusion of prize money intensifies the competition, providing fans with a more rewarding experience. The defending champion of Berlin Raceway, Bubba Pollard, faces the challenge of defending his crown against a broader field of talents vying for the coveted $40,000 cash prize.

The annual Battle at Berlin is now known as the ‘Tekton 250, Battle at Berlin,’ featuring a $40,000-to-win payout scheduled for Wednesday, August 7.

Additionally, officials unveiled Tekton Tools as the event’s title sponsor, extending their partnership with Berlin Raceway to support the premier Super Late Model division.

This collaboration aims to elevate both the season-long division championship and the signature event.

At a banquet, raceway officials Mike Bursley and Jeff Striegle (General Manager) expressed their intent to attract top short-trackers to Marne, Michigan, promising fans a thrilling race and a heightened level of excitement during the short-track bonanza on August 7.

Berlin Raceway, often viewed as an entertainment complex for fans and racers alike, offers a holistic experience that goes beyond just racing.

While casual observers may see it as a standard short track hosting a decent Late-Model race, hardcore fans appreciate the overall ambiance – from the intense race to driver interaction.

The track, resembling a holistic experience inspired by minor league baseball, accommodates large crowds and provides well-equipped amenities to meet the public’s needs.

In addition to the local racing program, Berlin Raceway hosts various events, including the ARCA Racing Series, Tony Stewart’s SRX Series, 500 Tour, ISMA Supermodifieds, and two marquee Super Late Model races.

National Super Late-Model racing champion Bubba Pollard shared his positive experiences with Shorttrackscene.com, emphasizing the welcoming atmosphere at Berlin Raceway.

Pollard, who typically doesn’t enjoy spending too much time with fellow drivers, praised the track for fostering camaraderie among competitors.

With the increased cash prize, the competition is expected to intensify, with defending champion Pollard facing strong challenges from notable drivers like NASCAR’s Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, and Josh Berry, all eyeing the $40,000 prize.
