Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has predicted a 2-1 victory for Manchester United in their upcoming Premier League clash against West Ham United on Sunday (February 4).
Currently positioned seventh in the league table with 35 points from 22 matches, the Red Devils have won twice in their last seven Premier League outings. Their most recent match ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (January 14).
In contrast, West Ham sits in sixth place in the 2023-24 table with 36 points from 22 games, enjoying a six-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League since their last defeat on December 10 last year.
In his column for British online bookmaker Paddy Power, Lawrenson expressed his belief that West Ham will struggle to assert their dominance at Old Trafford, stating:
“West Ham will go to Old Trafford and park the bus but David Moyes’ record isn’t the best at the big sides as we know.”
Manchester United, with 15 wins in their 32 matches across competitions this season, have lost their last two encounters against West Ham. In their recent 15 meetings with David Moyes’ team, they have recorded eight wins, two draws, and five defeats.
