Update on Jeremy Martin After Scary Detroit SX Crash

The Detroit Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship kicked off the 250SX East Region Championship in Michigan, presenting a mix of triumphs and challenges for the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team.

During free practice, a newcomer to the supercross scene, Jett Reynolds, encountered a setback with a crash that led to an injury, sidelining him for the remainder of the day. Initially, Steve Matthes reported a fractured collarbone, but the ClubMX team later confirmed it as an AC separation in his shoulder.

This marks another hurdle for Reynolds, who previously suffered a broken arm during the 2022 Minneapolis Supercross press day. Despite these setbacks, Reynolds aims to recover in time for the next 250SX East Region race scheduled in Arlington, Texas, on February 24.

The team faced further challenges when veteran rider Jeremy Martin endured a frightening crash during his heat race’s final lap while navigating through the whoops section.

However, an update from the team assured fans that Martin had suffered a mild concussion but was otherwise in stable condition. While he will undergo concussion protocol, Martin remains optimistic about participating in the upcoming Arlington Supercross event.

Reflecting on Saturday’s events, it was evident that the Yamaha-mounted team had encountered its fair share of trials. Martin’s crash, in particular, stirred concern as he was attended to by the Alpinestars medical crew and subsequently transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

However, Martin reassured his supporters via Instagram on Monday morning, expressing gratitude for the well wishes and confirming he was undergoing concussion protocol from home.

Despite these setbacks, the team found a glimmer of success as Coty Schock, their third East Coast rider, navigated through the chaos of the first-turn pileup in the 250SX main event. Schock delivered an impressive performance, clinching a career-best fourth-place finish, marking a significant milestone for the rider.

Sharing his post-race reflections, Schock expressed his elation, likening the experience to a victorious moment despite initially being unaware of his position during the race. Team spokesperson Bonacci commended Schock for his resilience and performance under pressure, highlighting his achievement as a testament to his dedication and skill.

In the face of adversity, the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team demonstrated perseverance and resilience, setting the stage for a promising season ahead.
