According to Football Insider, Manchester United is set to demand £40 to £50 million for Jadon Sancho’s departure in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The England international recently returned to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, on loan after a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. This discord arose when Ten Hag omitted Sancho from the squad for a match against Arsenal in September 2023, citing training-related issues.
Sancho refuted these claims vehemently on his X account, although he later deleted the post. Despite his efforts, the 23-year-old struggled to reconcile with Ten Hag, leading to limited playing time at Manchester United this season, with just three Premier League appearances totaling 76 minutes.
Since his return to Dortmund, Sancho has made three appearances in the Bundesliga, contributing with two assists. However, the reported price tag may appear steep for a player who has not met the anticipated performance levels.
Sancho’s initial move to Manchester United in 2021 amounted to a reported £73 million, during which he featured in 82 matches across various competitions. Despite this, his goal tally stands at 12, with six assists to his name.
Furthermore, Football Insider suggests that Borussia Dortmund is unlikely to pursue a permanent deal for Sancho in the upcoming transfer window. As such, Sancho’s future at Old Trafford appears uncertain for the time being.
