Jonathan Haggerty Responds to Liam Harrison’s Comments on Potential Challenger:
Two-sport ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty has addressed Liam Harrison’s recent remarks suggesting that rising star Nico Carrillo could dethrone him from his Muay Thai throne.
Having held the undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion title since last year, Haggerty has constantly faced speculation about potential threats to his reign from renowned fighters like Harrison, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, and Felipe Lobo.
Despite Harrison considering retirement, he surprisingly continues to advocate for Carrillo as a contender against Haggerty.
Responding to Harrison’s remarks in an interview, Haggerty expressed his surprise at Harrison’s persistence in rallying against him, especially considering Harrison’s status.
Haggerty stated to the South China Morning Post this week: “For the last few months now, he hasn’t stopped saying my name. But like I said, I’ve got what everyone wants, so maybe that’s the reason he keeps mentioning that Nico [Carrillo] is going to beat me this and that, he’s passing people on to fight me.”
