Reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty has a clear message for a potential future opponent, Nicto Carrillo.
Carrillo’s recent victory over Nong-O Hama at ONE Friday Fights 46 propelled him to the top spot in the bantamweight Muay Thai division’s rankings. This achievement has set the stage for a potential showdown between Carrillo and Haggerty.
However, before any such clash can take place, Haggerty has to focus on his upcoming title defense against Felipe Lobo at ONE Fight Night 19 on Friday, February 16. Despite this, Haggerty isn’t overlooking Carrillo and has issued a word of caution to the Scottish fighter.
“I hope his hand gets better and yeah make sure you’re working on blocking kicks that’s what I’m gonna say,” Haggerty stated to the South China Morning Post.
Carrillo boasts an undefeated record under the ONE banner, securing victories over Furkan Karabag, Muangthai PK Saenchai, and Nong-O.
