CM Punk’s absence from WWE television due to a torn tricep has dashed his hopes of headlining WrestleMania this year, leaving fans disheartened. Despite undergoing surgery and making appearances backstage, WWE seems keen on Punk returning to action sooner rather than later, even while he recuperates.
According to Ace Steel, a close friend and former trainer of CM Punk, WWE is considering utilizing him on commentary until he fully recovers.
However, this plan is not without its challenges, especially after an angle on last week’s show saw Drew McIntyre targeting Punk’s injured arm, potentially undermining his credibility.
Alongside the commentary opportunity, CM Punk has reportedly been involved in assisting at the WWE Performance Center. Steel suggested that a role in NXT might be a better fit for Punk as he continues his rehabilitation, with a potential comeback aimed at targeting McIntyre in about six months, provided he remains with the company.
