Following his unanimous decision loss to Jack Hermansson in tonight’s UFC Vegas 86 main event, Joe Pyfer has issued a statement addressing his performance.
Pyfer, with a record of 12-3 in MMA, entered his first UFC main event on a five-fight win streak, including a notable second-round submission victory over Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 80 in October. Nicknamed ‘Bodybagz’, Pyfer aimed to extend his perfect Octagon record to 4-0.
On the other hand, Jack Hermansson (24-8 MMA) made his return after a 14-month hiatus since his TKO loss to Roman Dolidze at UFC Orlando. Despite a mixed record of 2-3 in his last five fights, Hermansson secured wins over Edmen Shahbazyan and Chris Curtis.
The main event showcased a gritty battle lasting the full twenty-five minutes. Pyfer dominated the opening rounds, displaying a strong start. However, Hermansson rallied in the later rounds, utilizing hard low kicks and a crisp jab to take control of the fight. Ultimately, Hermansson secured a unanimous decision victory by smothering Pyfer on the canvas in the final round.

Following the defeat, Pyfer, aged 27, took to Instagram to share his thoughts on his first UFC loss.
“I just want to say, I’m okay. Despite how my face looks. I wasn’t rocked. I got punched in the eyeball, couldn’t see. He did a good job on the canvas. I feel like the eye, when I lost vision, I felt that round. Like I lost that round and just couldn’t get it back. Then he did a good job on the canvas. So, to all my haters, suck a fat dick. I wasn’t supposed to be here anyway. I give it one hundred percent every time. We will make adjustments and we’ll come back. Thank you to all my sponsors and to everyone who supports me. And yeah, good job Jack (Hermansson).”
