UFC CEO Dana White has disclosed that the lineup for UFC 300 is still under works, with the main event fight yet to be confirmed.
Speculation within the MMA community has been rife regarding who will headline UFC 300 or if the promotion has concluded booking the major fights for the card, considering several have already been announced.
White, while lacking official confirmation, has assured that the UFC is endeavoring to add a couple more fights, including the main event.
White addressed reporters on Friday, stating, “Who knows who’s going to be the UFC 300 headliner? It’s been interesting, I can tell you that. Obviously, we want to deliver.”
He emphasized the high caliber of fights already scheduled, highlighting the potential main event-worthy matchups throughout the card. He mentioned, “We’re just waiting for that last one. We’ve got two more fights we have to put together. We’re working on it.”
Despite recent speculation, White has dismissed the possibility of Conor McGregor headlining, reiterating that the Irishman won’t be the main event.
UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, despite being offered the opportunity, declared himself unfit to compete on April 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
With limited options among available stars, the UFC appears to face a challenge in finalizing the headlining bout.
