Iowa standout Caitlin Clark achieved another significant milestone on Sunday against Nebraska.
The seasoned guard reached her 1,000th career assist, joining an elite group of just six women’s basketball players to achieve this feat. Remarkably, she is also the first player to amass over 1,000 assists alongside 3,000 points.
Big Ten Network celebrated Clark’s achievement, highlighting her exceptional talent on the court.

With her latest milestone, Clark inches closer to surpassing Kelsey Plum’s all-time scoring record. Prior to Sunday’s game, she trailed the Washington legend by 39 points.
However, the legacy of Suzie McConnell-Serio, who departed Penn State in 1988 after tallying 1,307 career assists, remains unchallenged. McConnell-Serio not only holds the all-time record for career assists, but no other player has even reached the 1,200-assist mark.
Despite Clark’s impressive performance, Iowa’s regular season is winding down with only five games remaining. Even factoring in postseason play, it’s unlikely she’ll close the gap to McConnell-Serio’s record.
Clark’s achievement of being the inaugural member of the 3,000/1,000 club underscores her multifaceted contributions to the game, extending beyond her scoring prowess.
