The road to WWE WrestleMania has taken an intriguing turn with the involvement of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Wrestling journalist Bill Apter addressed rumors suggesting that The Rock might be aiming to sideline Triple H within WWE.
Speculation arose when The Rock was appointed to the TKO Board of Directors, coinciding with his insertion into the world title picture.
Currently, The Rock has embraced a heel persona and appears to be aligning with Roman Reigns, while Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins confront the Samoans, setting the stage for a potential internal conflict within WWE as Triple H asserts his creative control.
Amidst these developments, there have been whispers that The Rock intends to populate key positions within WWE with his associates, including involving Brian Gewirtz in storyline planning leading up to WrestleMania.
However, Apter expressed skepticism regarding claims that The Rock is attempting to marginalize Triple H.
Apter suggested that Dwayne Johnson likely recognizes Triple H’s significance to WWE and respects his capabilities, implying that the former on-screen rivals maintain a professional understanding.
“The Vince McMahon, the whole domino effect and everything. Right now, the rumor everyone is trying to make like it’s happening is that [The Rock]… this whole thing with him being on the board of directors, storyline or not the storyline; eventually, he wants to bring his writers in, Brian Gewirtz and other people, and they were going to try and inch Triple H out of his position. I don’t buy any of this. But you’ve heard the rumors, I assume. correct?”
