Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni addressed inquiries about Kylian Mbappe’s future following Los Blancos’ 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig on Tuesday (February 13).
Despite Brahim Diaz being the solitary scorer of the night, securing a favorable position for his team in the upcoming second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, reporters were eager to glean insights into Mbappe’s impending move.
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires in the summer, fueling speculations of his switch to Real Madrid. When asked about the potential transfer, Mbappé’s fellow France national team player, Tchouameni, quipped (via Get Football News Spain):
“Mbappe to Real Madrid? He hasn’t told me, and even if he did, I wouldn’t tell you (laughs). Yes, we talk about it in the locker room because it’s an important subject. Hopefully, we know more in the next weeks.”
The French duo has shared the field 24 times for Les Bleus, registering two joint goal contributions during their appearances together. A prospective move to Madrid could see them team up for both club and country. While at PSG, Mbappé has clinched the Ligue 1 title five times but is yet to secure the coveted UEFA Champions League trophy.
With 289 appearances across various competitions for the Parisian club, the 2018 World Cup winner has notched an impressive tally of 242 goals and 105 assists.
