Barcelona’s managerial target, Hansi Flick, has enlisted Pini Zahavi as his new agent, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg. Flick is purportedly seeking to leverage Zahavi’s connections to secure a new coaching opportunity.
With Xavi set to depart at the season’s end, Barcelona is actively seeking a replacement, with Flick reportedly among their considerations.
The former Bayern Munich manager has been without a coaching position since parting ways with the Germany national team in 2023. Plettenberg notes that Flick has also received interest from the Premier League.
Flick notably guided Bayern to a European treble in the 2019-20 campaign. Despite a less successful stint with Die Mannschaft, he remains highly regarded in coaching circles.
Barcelona has identified Flick, alongside Thomas Tuchel, Jürgen Klopp, and others, as potential candidates to succeed Xavi, who announced his impending departure after the 2023-24 season.
Last summer, according to Jijantes FC, Barcelona held discussions with Flick’s new representative, Zahavi, to explore the prospect of signing his clients Yannick Carrasco and Benjamin Pavard.
It’s worth noting that Barcelona already enjoys a strong relationship with Zahavi, who also represents star striker Robert Lewandowski.
