The Boston Celtics have announced that Jaylen Brown will be sidelined for Wednesday night’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a right shoulder contusion.

Initially marked as questionable, the veteran wing showcased his resilience by playing nearly 38 minutes in Tuesday’s thrilling 118-110 road victory over Brooklyn, tallying 19 points and four assists.

Despite Brown’s absence, the Celtics are riding high with seven wins in their last eight games, maintaining an impressive 42-12 record and holding a comfortable six-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Brown’s significant contributions have been instrumental in positioning Boston as a formidable championship contender midway through the season. Across 50 appearances, he has been averaging 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, shooting at an impressive 49.2 percent from the field.

Having secured his third career All-Star Game selection as a reserve, the 27-year-old is also set to showcase his skills in the Slam Dunk Contest, adding another feather to his cap.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla faces additional challenges on Wednesday with key rotation player Al Horford sidelined due to a big toe sprain. The Celtics are also eagerly anticipating the debuts of midseason acquisitions Jaden Springer and Xavier Tillman.

With Brown out, Sam Hauser is expected to step up into the starting lineup, offering versatility by seamlessly transitioning to the power forward position in the absence of Horford.
