Arsenal and Liverpool are both vying for the signature of Brazilian winger Raphinha, who Barcelona has made available for a reported fee of £55 million, as per HITC Football.
Raphinha’s journey at Barcelona began in 2022 after a standout performance with Leeds United in the Premier League, securing his transfer for a reported €58 million. Since then, he has featured in 71 matches for the Blaugrana, scoring 14 goals and providing 19 assists.
This season, Raphinha has continued to impress at Barcelona, contributing significantly with four goals and seven assists in 21 appearances, primarily as a substitute. His stellar performances have attracted interest from both the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League.
Given Barcelona’s financial challenges, they may need to offload several key players in the upcoming transfer window to alleviate their financial strain, with Raphinha potentially among those departing.
Arsenal is reportedly keen on acquiring multiple attacking options from Barcelona, including Raphinha and Ferran Torres. The Gunners had previously pursued the Brazilian before his move to Barcelona, and manager Mikel Arteta remains an admirer of Torres.
Similarly, Liverpool has long admired Raphinha, particularly impressed by his time in the Premier League. His style of cutting inside onto his left foot from the right flank could make him an attractive successor to Mohamed Salah for the Reds.
However, competition for Raphinha’s signature is fierce, with Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, and Newcastle United also expressing interest. Both Arsenal and Liverpool will need to act swiftly in the transfer market to secure the talented Brazilian’s services.
