Despite facing challenges throughout the current NBA season, Steph Curry remains steadfast in his belief that he, along with teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, will retire as members of the Golden State Warriors.

Speaking to ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Curry expressed his commitment to the team and his confidence that Thompson and Green share the same sentiment about their future with the Warriors.

“This has always been a driving force for us,” Curry asserted during the interview at the 2:44 mark. “Our goal is not only to conclude our careers as Warriors but also to sustain a high level of competition. It’s about ending it on the right note.”

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the Warriors’ core this season, Curry maintained optimism regarding the team’s ability to overcome adversity and maintain their competitive edge.

“We’ve encountered numerous hurdles this season, the three of us,” Curry reflected. “From Draymond’s absence to Klay adapting to a new role, alongside the introduction of new teammates in our journey. However, I firmly believe we can achieve both objectives. It’s crucial to preserve our identity and I believe we’re heading in the right direction.”

Despite currently occupying the 10th spot in the Western Conference with a record of 27-26, the Warriors remain firmly in contention for a playoff berth with a significant portion of the season remaining. The team entered the All-Star break on a positive note, securing victories in six of their last seven games.

Throughout the season, Curry has continued to serve as the linchpin for the Warriors, averaging 28 points per game and delivering standout performances in crucial moments, such as his game-winning shot against the Phoenix Suns in February. However, his fellow stars have experienced fluctuations in form.

Thompson, in particular, has seen a decline in his scoring output, averaging 17.3 points per game, his lowest since his sophomore season in the NBA. Nonetheless, his recent performance off the bench, including a 35-point display, suggests the potential for a resurgence.

Green’s absence from 12 games added to the Warriors’ challenges, but since his return, he has remained a key defensive presence for the team, a role he has epitomized throughout his career.

With 29 games remaining in the season, the Warriors’ core is focused on a second-half surge to propel the team into playoff contention, illustrating their unwavering commitment to the franchise’s success.
