L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi has expressed confidence that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah would be a sensational addition to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) if he were to join the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
With PSG leading the 2023-24 Ligue 1 standings with 53 points from 22 matches, speculation is rife about potential squad changes for the upcoming season, particularly amid reports of Kylian Mbappe’s anticipated move to Real Madrid.
In discussing PSG’s prospects, Tanzi emphasized their ability to contend in the UEFA Champions League with their current roster. He remarked (as reported by PSG Talk):
“What’s crucial is whether they can assemble a squad capable of competing in the UEFA Champions League. I believe it’s achievable.
There’s a wealth of talent, and Mbappe’s departure will create opportunities for others to shine. Young talents like [17-year-old midfielder Warren] Zaire-Emery epitomize the club’s future.”
Tanzi advocated for PSG to secure the services of Salah, emphasizing the Egyptian’s potential to elevate the team’s stature. He concluded:
“Moreover, PSG retains the capacity to attract top-tier talent. Players like Mohamed Salah could bring genuine stardom to Paris.”
Salah, whose contract with Liverpool expires in June 2025, has left an indelible mark on the club’s history since he arrived in 2017. With 205 goals and 89 assists in 333 appearances for the Reds, including 19 goals and 10 assists this season, the 31-year-old has been a pivotal figure in Liverpool’s success.
