Reports indicate that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is already planning for life without Kylian Mbappé, who is expected to join Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window. It’s suggested that PSG has set their sights on AC Milan’s Rafael Leao as Mbappé’s potential replacement.

Earlier this month, transfer expert David Ornstein revealed that Mbappé would be departing PSG at the end of the current season, moving to Real Madrid on a free transfer. MARCA also reported that Mbappé has inked a lucrative five-year deal with Carlo Ancelotti’s side, becoming their highest-paid player.

In light of Mbappé’s impending exit, PSG has reportedly pinpointed Leao as the ideal successor.

According to Fichajes, PSG manager Luis Enrique views the Portuguese winger as the perfect fit to fill Mbappé’s shoes.

However, securing Leao’s services won’t be straightforward. The winger recently extended his contract with AC Milan until 2028, with a reported release clause of €175 million. Despite the challenge, PSG remains keen on acquiring his talents.

Since joining AC Milan from LOSC Lille in 2021, Leao has become a key figure for the Italian side, amassing 194 appearances, 51 goals, and 44 assists. This season alone, he has contributed eight goals and eight assists in 31 appearances for Stefano Pioli’s team, who currently sit third in the Serie A table with 52 points from 25 matches.
