NBA superstar LeBron James extended his congratulations to Liverpool following their victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Chelsea in the EFL Cup final at Wembley Stadium, with Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk finding the back of the net in the 118th minute with an assist from Kostas Tsikimas. This crucial goal spared Liverpool from a penalty shootout and propelled them to their 10th EFL Cup title.
After the historic win, LeBron James, who holds a 2% stake in Liverpool and is also a player for the Los Angeles Lakers, took to X (formerly Twitter) to offer his congratulations, simply writing, “CONGRATS MEN!”
Liverpool currently leads the Premier League standings with 60 points from 26 games, sitting ahead of Manchester City (59 points) managed by Pep Guardiola, and Arsenal (58 points) under Mikel Arteta’s guidance.
Additionally, Jürgen Klopp’s side is preparing to face Sparta Praha in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League. Before that fixture, they will host Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Anfield on Wednesday, February 28.
