Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has affirmed that his partnership with Kevin De Bruyne remains potent. This statement follows De Bruyne’s remarkable performance, providing four assists to Haaland in the team’s resounding 6-2 triumph over Luton Town in the FA Cup on Tuesday (February 27).
In an interview with ITV Football post-match, Haaland expressed, “It’s coming, we’re coming… We are ready to attack.”
The duo showcased their prowess in the cup fixture, with Haaland netting an impressive five goals. De Bruyne orchestrated four of those, leaving the opposition helpless against their combined brilliance.
Haaland’s hattrick within 40 minutes propelled Manchester City to a 3-1 lead at halftime. Although the hosts narrowed the deficit to 3-2, the Norwegian struck twice more before Mateo Kovacic added another.
De Bruyne’s return from injury earlier in the season saw him hit the ground running, tallying two goals and 12 assists in 12 appearances. His contribution was crucial as Manchester City navigated through a challenging December fixture list, positioning themselves closely behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Despite missing 12 games due to a bone injury in December and January, Haaland has maintained an impressive season, amassing 27 goals and six assists in 30 appearances.
Since Haaland’s arrival at Manchester City, the pair has formed a lethal partnership. Together, they have combined for 20 goals in 50 matches, playing pivotal roles in securing 35 victories.
